Martinez Park

From 1998 through 2000, Sovick Design/Builders designed and built a unique neighborhood in one of the oldest areas of Fort Collins.

Victorians, Craftsman bungalows, Four-squares and related traditional architectural forms was the style that we used to create a flavorful old style feel for the neighborhood.

In the spirit of urban diversity, the combination of two office buildings, four above-garage apartments, two duplexes and five homes overlook Martinez Park, a 50 acre city park where the Cache la Poudre river flows through town. An extensive bike and walking trail system are adjacent to the homes with the mixed-use development, Mason Street North on the east and River Rock Commons Cohousing to the west. On the other side of the open space, downtown Fort Collins is a few blocks away to the south.

With a pedestrian feel, the buildings face the park with car and garage access at the rear of the lots. The energy efficient homes were designed and built with a high quality, "not-so-big-house" attitude.
