"Sovick Design/Builders (SDB) were the primes on Greyrock Commons, a 30 family co-housing project, where we, the future owners were the lead developers. Thanks to SDB and their team the project came in on time and budget despite a large number of change requests which they handled with a great deal of grace. Having lived there for over ten years now, the buildings are solid and tight. Thank you."
Dave McComb (1996)
"Quality design and materials, excellent workmanship, and energy efficiency. Eight years in my home and I just appreciated the warmth in the winter and cool in the summer more and more as time went on. Now that energy prices have skyrocketed, Sovick Design/Builders built homes are even more valuable."
Robin MacDonald (1996)
"We retired to Fort Collins and hired Sovcik Design/Builders to work with us building a home…The end result was just what we wanted, on time and within budget! I doubt that you could find a more ethical and honest man in the business."
Bill and Irene Dieter and daughter Heather D. Bartmann (1992)
"Dennis Sovick has a long-standing reputation as a progressive, innovative designer/builder who works closely with his clients to meet their needs. He's been a pioneer in solar and energy-efficiency for many years. We've witnessed his success in many custom homes as well as in building the 30-unit cohousing project, Greyrock Commons, in which we live (no easy feat!). We have a great house and appreciate SDB's commitment to the project!"
Swartz/Spencer family (1996)
"Our home is better than we expected and we had pretty high expectations. Thanks for building us a beautiful home."
Korey and Barb Albert (2002)
"Sovick Design/Builders, their staff, and the great subcontractors he used did a magnificent job in building my law office on Mason Court. They were easy to work with, listened to all of our concerns and desires, and put together a space that we are very proud of."
Lee Christian (2000)
Sovick Design/Builders, the staff and crew are creative, attentive to the needs of the client, and professional on all levels… We highly recommend SDB for a wide variety of building projects."
Joannah Merriman and Neil Petrie (1987,2000,2004)
"Every time I come home, I feel happy. SDB and team have built us a 'happy' home, with lots of windows that let the sun in and also make our plants and flowers smile all the time!"
Paola MP (1993)
"We loved working with Sovick Design/Builders and their crews throughout the entire design and building process. Dennis worked closely with us to accomodate our desires and ideas and ultimately created a truly unique home that fits us. The people involved in the building were honest, quality craftmen, and it was a pleasure to get to know them and to have them work on the house."
Frank Garry and Ragan Adams (1994,2001,2005)
"Sovick Design/Builders knows how to work with the space available to create truly livable houses. There is a lot to please the eye in our house, including
beautiful interior woodwork and a hand-crafted open fir stairway. We enjoy many other unique, yet practical features such as the built-in storage in our house. Our entire neighborhood has benefited from the Sovick touch!"
Tom and Jacque Ingram (2000)
"We contracted with Sovick Design/Builders for design and project management assistance while building our energy efficient, timber framed house north of Fort Collins. We were very impressed both with the quality of design input we received, as well as the excellent consultation and assistance provided."
Anne and Timothy Allen (1985)
" Sovick Design/Builders designed and built the house we still occupy. We had lots of unusual notions about design criteria during the design phase, most of which were embraced without complaint. They did, however, gently dissuade us from some ideas they thought were impractical or too expensive. Our home has proved to be comfortable, energy efficient, durable, and after 14 years, still a source of compliments from visitors and passersby."
Tim and Rebecca Pearson (1992)
"We hired Sovick Design/Builders to help us design and construct a home on a narrow lot. There were many challenges along the way but their team worked well to build a great home, on time and on budget."
Jeff & Angela Lindquist (2000)
"We partnered with Sovick Design/Builders on the design of our Victorian-style passive solar house. The two-story solar atrium in the center of our home worked perfectly, both functionally and aesthetically. SDB saw that the entire construction phase of the house went smoothly and with nary a hitch. This home has been featured on the Fort Collins Solar Home Tour. After ten years we sold it by owner within two weeks."
Larry and Margie Caswell (1991)
"Nice clean design lines, flexible and accommodating when it came to customizing the design for individual tastes. Good use of energy efficient/solar passive products."
Suzanne Smith (2000)
"Sovick Design/Builders designed and built the most fabulous attached greenhouse and new two-story addition. I especially appreciate the durability and consideration to detail. SDB did an expert job…I especially appreciate the clear communication and personal commitment from Dennis and his workers. They provided us with good, useful ideas and expert direction."
Helen Everhardt (1982/1987)
"Sovick Design/Builders specialize in the creative process of designing and building. Dennis planned a major addition that greatly enhanced the old and created a practical, fun, beautiful new living space for our family and friends."
Jean and Randy Hediger (1996)
The Sovick Design/Builders team were perfect for the job. Our initial design was fleshed out to a great home that we love coming back to every day.
Steve and Amy Dondale (2003)
And for those (with humor) who had the perserverance to scroll down this far:
"Sovick Designs: a tale of before and after.
Before we hired Dennis Sovick for our Fort Collins project in the early '80's, we barely used our screen porch. After the rennovation, the solar sun room became the year 'round focal point of our home.
Before we hired Sovick, we barely knew him. After the project was done, we were friends.
Before Dennis arrived, we were pretty normal. After he left, we were raving solar lunatics.
Before the project, we spoke normally. After completion of the project, we had Chicago accents.
Before the project, we barely knew of the existence of clearstory (clerestory to the literate) windows. After the project, our enduring remembrance was of Dennis perilously hanging upside down from a rafter, installing two of them.
For us, standards for home renovation have two eras: BD (before Dennis) and AD (after Dennis)."
